The problem
A generic grip leaves gaps. Your hand hunts for a seat every time you pick the rifle up. Those gaps become small twists when the shot breaks.

On a stock grip the whole hand tends to tighten or roll as you press. The trigger finger does not work alone. The rifle gets pulled off the break.
